It can also reduce crosstalk, electromagnetic emissions, and improve signal integrity. Compared to two layer PCBs, planes in multilayer PCBs can significantly reduce radiated emissions, less than 15 dB.

At Build a PCB, we understand that the quality of the PCB’s performance is dependent on the signal layers. We design the six layer board by adding two extra signal layers between the planes of a four layer board. The advantage of this design is there are two buried layers for high speed signals. Also, there are two surface layers, through which low speed signals can be routed.
